[ Moving day. Term is over and most people have gone home, but not Matt and Nate, who have spent the last few days making sure everything is ready for their new flat. A new flat they're outside now, waiting for the moving van to turn up. ]

You've got the keys, yeah? [ He asks for about the tenth time. ]

Nope, lost them since you asked me last. Guess we're homeless now.

[He gives Matt a grin.]

Yeah, I've got them. Just need to make sure everything is unlocked and ready for the big haul so I can tell my dad to get off his arse.

Don't be a prick. [ Matt gives Nate a friendly shove. Really, he's a bag of nerves about all of this for no good reason. Maybe in part because Nate's parents are there. It's weird to him. ]

[As if on cue, he wanders over, all smiles.]

[ Your dad's what, Nate? What the fuck u on about. Matt looks to him, wiping his hand down his jeans before he offers it out. ]

Mr. Jones. Thanks for coming. We appreciate all your help, Sir.

[ Crazy polite. Who took Matt away and replaced him with this. ]

Mister Jones! [He says with a laugh as he shakes Matt's hand.] I'm Mr Jones now. Most of the lads Nate brings around don't call me much of anything.

[Well, Nate did say once that he liked the bad boy type.]

Nate just rolls his eyes. This is going to test all of his patience, he thinks. His dad wanders off to start bringing in smaller stuff while the boys go for bed frames.]

[ And he moves into said van, going to get one of the ends of the frame while he waits for Nate to grab the other end ]

[ He starts heaving it, trying not to rush because no, Nate isn't so much with the muscles. ]

The one in the back has a window to the east. Morning light is good for painting.
